Photo Friday: York Fair
As promised, I’m back. And I’m reinstating an old favorite: Photo Friday. I’ve got a ton of pictures from the summer that I need to catch you up on. With no rhyme or reason, I’m going to pick out the images that defined my summer. First up: the York Fair.
I’ve blogged about the fair once before, when we went last year to see Luke Bryan. We enjoyed it so much that I actually convinced the hubs to see another country concert: Florida Georgia Line. Now neither of us are huge country fans, nor did we know any of the songs other than the three on the radio, but the tickets were so cheap and included admission to the fair that we decided to hit it up. I had no idea how big of a following they had – the place was packed! The concert was good, but let’s be honest, we went for the food.
I’ve introduced you all to the amazingness that is the Fried Oreo in my eloquent description of my first experience at the PA Ren Faire last year. While that description is some of my best work, I had neglected to take a picture to show you this wondrous invention in all of it’s glory. This time around I somehow managed to rectify that prior to gorging my face on two of them. Also, whomever decided to sell Fried Oreos in odd numbers is just cruel. I don’t know how, but somehow I managed to tell the hubs, “No I really don’t want the last one, you have it.” And he believed me! Ugh.
We wandered around the fair briefly, people watched, and ate meat, meat, and more meat. Other than that it was a pretty uneventful trip, which I would say is a success.
Now I’ve got to go so that I can strategically plan how many local fairs and festivals are left in the season, how many of them I can feasibly hit up, and calculate how many miles I would have to run to eat Fried Oreos at each one…
