Day 26: Snowflakes for Sandy Hook
I owe you guys a post. A real in depth post. A wrap up post. I’ve had such a nice respite from blogging daily, but it’s time to get back to it. And maybe a resolutions post. But I’ll start with something small. Day 26…
I mentioned in my last post that the BFFE and I were planning a 26th Day to honor the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary (and to participate in the #26Acts of Kindness movement). I had found online that the Sandy Hook PTA was asking for snowflakes to decorate the new school upon the students’ return, so while the BFFE was in town, we made a few snowflakes to send up there. It was was so nice to spend some time with the BFFE and another friend who joined us, old friends are the best friends
We made quite a few and I was really excited to mail them off, until I looked up the mailing information. Even though it was a week and half before the deadline, they had received so many that they were no longer accepting donations. Instead, they asked you to make your own winter wonderland and send them a picture. It really says something about this country that they had reached their capacity. My 25 Days of Giving is just a small little movement in a part of this great big country of givers. I love it.
But what to do with all these snowflakes? Surely I knew someone that could use them. I told Janelle what happened and that I was thinking of finding a teacher to give them to for their classroom. Turns out Janelle’s bestie is a teacher and would love to have them in her classroom! So off they went to create a winter wonderland right here locally.
And with that I’ll wrap up my 25 Days of Giving. It’s been another fun whirlwind of giving and I’ll be back soon(ish) with a wrap-up. And maybe that resolutions post…which perhaps should include something about regularly blogging…

Thank you! And Lauren thanks you too for the wonderful snowflakes!
Now don’t tease us for too long… I want to see that wrap-up post and RESOLUTIONS(!!!) post soon!
Oh that’s PERFECT!!!! Thanks for figuring it out lady! You’re awesome!
