Saturday at Central Market
This past weekend we had some out of town friends visit us. I had no idea where I wanted to take them other than Central Market York. Our one friend had gone to York College with us, and like us, never ventured much downtown. When we drove into the city he couldn’t believe how much it had turned around since we had graduated (6 years ago) and his fiance kept saying that it was a “cute little town”.
I was a little nervous taking them there because I talk it up so much I want other people to love it as much as I do. I had no reason to worry – when we walked into market they loved it. They said the same thing everyone I introduce to Market says, “I wish we had something like this close to us!”
I didn’t actually take any pictures this time around, but found these pics saved on my phone from a previous trip:
Sand tarts from Myers Salads & Pastries – I think? Someone help me out here.
Obviously I had bought this one:
Hmmm…something’s wrong here…
This is more like it:
We also had gotten a lemon tart topped with blueberries from the Copper Crust Company.
It was as delicious as it looked. And the hubs and I weren’t the only ones that wanted some…
Dex photo bomb!
We wrapped up our tour of Market with a couple of craft beers at Mudhook Brewery. It was gorgeous outside so their outdoor seating area was perfect to catch up with old friends. We capped off the downtown tour with a stop at Just Cupcakes. The hubs and I got our usual (oreo) and the owner informed us they serve espresso and lattes now. I had no idea so I thought I’d share – it was really good!

If you relocate those two middle blueberries to the side, it makes a D. Obviously D for Dex! It’s HIS!!
PS — Also at Central Market, Little Sisters has the BEST chocolate chip cookies I have ever consumed in my liiiiife. Wait, that’s a lot of hype. Okay, they’re really good and definitely worth a try!
