Low Key York Weekend

This past weekend was pretty low-key for us. You know the kind – the once in a blue moon when you actually have nothing on the calendar, nowhere to travel to. Time to relax? Not for us- we actually did some major spring cleaning! You know, instead of saying you’re going to do it but you read all three Hunger Games books in two days on four hours of sleep a night and lose four pounds because you forget to eat. Which obviously I’ve never done… (Team Katniss!)

And the hubs got a ton of yardwork done. We don’t have a huge yard but it is full of flowers. The woman that lived here before us was flower crazy – she put flowers and plants in every corner of our yard. They’re gorgeous, but it is just too much for us black thumbs to take care of.

We’ve slowly been transplanting the survivors to areas of the yard where we want flowerbeds as well as giving them away to family and friends.

We’re hoping to have it more manageable by next summer. I know we’re pretty lucky that all this landscaping was done for us and we’ve never had to buy any plants, but vegetable gardens are more my speed. My dad grows the little seedlings and then I just have to remember to plant them before they outgrow the pot.

Sometimes I barely remember to do that though. Mom how did I not get your and Dziadzi’s green thumbs?
